The aim of Ford foundation scholarships is to assist graduating high school seniors of Hispanic heritage nationwide in getting their bachelor’s degree. The maximum scholarship amount is $2,500. To apply for this Hispanic heritage scholarship then candidate has to be of Hispanic heritage and a U.S. citizen. It is also necessary for the candidate to have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The Comcast Scholarships known as Comcast Leaders and Achievers Program are offered to more than 2,000 high school seniors students every year. The scholarship award is of $1000 and to get this award one must be nominated by their principals. It is a merit based scholarship and students are required to have a GPA of 2.8 or higher on 4.0 scale. These scholarships are only for the students who are attending senior high school in full term and posses leadership qualities displayed in school activities or even in work. The nomination for this grant is sent by the principal of the school or guidance counselor.

The HBCU Scholarships are granted to the black minorities of the US but in certain cases it is also offered to the students of the non minority classes. The scholarship amount of $1,000 is granted to any black or minority student who is going to enroll in a historically black university. It requires the student to be enlisted in a full time college or university. Some of the HBCU scholarships are merit based and requires a candidate to have a minimum GPA to be eligible for the scholarship. A student enrolling in any historically black college can apply for the scholarship by filling a scholarship form.

AT&T Foundation scholarships designed for the students of Hispanic heritage who are pursuing their graduation at an accredited four-year and two-year college. Students who are pursuing short term courses can a $1,500 scholarship whereas the students attending four-year accredited colleges can get a scholarship amount of $2,500. Those students who are attending military academies are eligible for a scholarship of $2,000. These grants are offered to the students on the basis of their merit. A student must also posses leadership skills and work experience to qualify for this program. The students must be less than 25 or 25 years of age.

Verizon scholarship is offered by the Verizon Foundation to provide financial aid to the children of the Verizon employees. The maximum scholarship amount that a student can avail of is $20,000. If a student is enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in an accredited university or college then they can get $2,500 for each of their semester. For being eligible for this scholarship one has to be a child of a Verizon employee who has worked for at least 90 days with the company. Alltel scholarship is offered by Alltel Wireless and is known as the “Words Of Wisdom Scholarship”. The scholarship amount is $10,000.
